About Zeigler Park
Recreational Facilities
Spanning 4.5 acres in west Tulsa, Zeigler Park is the neighborhood's backyard - a place where the community comes together. This green space offers a little something for everyone, nestled within the surrounding residential area.
Water Playground
When Oklahoma summers bring the heat, the park's water playground becomes the place to be. Kids enjoy the splash pad, a popular spot during the hot summer months.
The water playground typically runs from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, operating daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Note that occasionally some water features might be taking an unscheduled break from duty.
Sports Facilities
The park includes several sports facilities. The tennis courts and ball diamond come with lights for evening games.
You'll also find basketball courts and a soccer field that cater to both pickup games and organized matches. Baseball players might appreciate knowing the center field fence stands at a respectable 370 feet.
Disc Golf
The 9-hole disc golf course at Zeigler Park is a secluded place for frisbee fans. If you're new to the sport, you're in luck - this course offers a beginner-friendly layout without intimidating technical challenges.
Winding through open green spaces, the course provides a relaxed experience that's meant for casual players or those just learning the ropes.
Green Spaces
The park has generous open areas for relaxation. Two covered picnic areas come with tables and grills for family gatherings or weekend cookouts.
The park's atmosphere is suitable for walking dogs (on leash, please) or getting in some exercise. It provides a break from the urban environment while still being in the city.
History
Zeigler Park got a facelift in 2014 when renovations brought updates to various facilities. Old-timers in the area might reminisce about the recreation center and pool that existed before 2002 - community fixtures that once anchored neighborhood life.
While the park continues to evolve with the community it serves, there's still room for growth. Some additional improvements would certainly benefit the neighborhood youth, however the park remains a valuable community resource as it stands today.
