In November 2024, the City of Tulsa announced plans to transfer ownership of Creek Stickball Park, along with the adjacent Council Oak Park, to the Muscogee Creek Nation. This transfer recognizes the site's cultural importance to the Muscogee people and ensures that decisions regarding this sacred ground will be made by the Muscogee Creek Nation moving forward.

Traditional Game Features

The park features a central playing area designed for stickball, which typically includes a single 5-10 meter pole topped with a brightly painted animal skull and a blue painted ring approximately 60 centimeters in diameter. This setup reflects the traditional elements of the Creek stickball game.
