Hawthorne Park is a public green space located in the Hawthorne neighborhood of South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The park occupies approximately three-quarters of an acre at the intersection of 12th and Catharine Streets.

Officially dedicated in 2012, it stands as one of Philadelphia's newer park additions.

History and Development

The park was developed on the former site of a vacant lot adjacent to the Martin Luther King Jr. Plaza housing development. Its creation resulted from a collaborative effort between community organizations, local residents, and city agencies.

The park's design incorporates elements of sustainable urban landscaping, including permeable paving and native plant species.
