Located in Pittsburgh's Oakland neighborhood, Schenley Plaza spans 4.5 acres of refreshing green space that functions as the gateway to Schenley Park. While originally conceived as a grand entrance to Schenley Park in the early 1900s, the space spent nearly 60 years (from 1949 onwards) as - believe it or not - a parking lot. The 1990s brought winds of change when revitalization efforts began, culminating in a complete transformation in 2006. Thanks to the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy partnering with the City of Pittsburgh, what was once filled with cars is now filled with life.
