Recreation Areas

Concord Park is a large outdoor space in Knoxville, Tennessee. Hugging the shores of Fort Loudoun Lake, this expansive green space has activities for just about everyone, whether you're looking to exercise or simply enjoy nature.

The park is thoughtfully divided into distinct sections, each with its own character. Over at Concord Park East, you can find all sorts of sporting options - an in-line hockey rink, soccer fields, tennis courts, and a junior golf course for the young Tiger Woods in your life. There's also a skatepark for those who prefer wheels under their feet, plus a paved walking trail excellent for your morning stroll or afternoon cardio.

Park Sections

Head to the western side, and Concord Park West offers baseball and softball fields for the diamond enthusiasts. It's also where you'll discover lake access for fishing and boating, including a convenient boat launch if you're itching to get out on Fort Loudoun Lake. Fishing fans will appreciate the multiple fishing piers, but you should know that some piers might be closed for maintenance from time to time.

If you're looking for the social hub of the park, make your way to the Cove at Concord Park. This popular spot features a swimming beach with a roped-off area (perfect for families with little ones), volleyball courts, and a playground that kids seem to love. A 0.9-mile paved greenway connects to 1.8 miles of shoreline trail, offering gorgeous views as you walk, jog, or cycle. During the warmer months, you can even rent kayaks and paddleboards to explore the lake from a different perspective.

Trail Systems

Mountain biking enthusiasts will find plenty of options here too. With roughly 12 miles of single-track trails ranging from beginner-friendly to technically challenging, there's terrain for riders at every skill level. The trails are well-kept, however a few more trail markers wouldn't hurt in some spots.

If hiking is more your speed, don't miss the Rock Quarry Trail - a well-maintained path with beautiful lakeside views. The hiking trails around the park offer varied terrain, with the waterside paths providing especially picturesque scenery.

Dog-Friendly Features

Bringing your four-legged friend? Concord Park is exceptionally dog-friendly. You can walk your leashed pup throughout the general park areas, but the real highlight is the dedicated dog park with separate spaces for large and small dogs. There's even a special swimming area with a jumping dock for water-loving canines. With plenty of shade, water stations, and waste disposal facilities, it's no wonder this spot is a hit with local pet owners.

Amenities

When hunger strikes, you can find numerous picnic areas scattered within the park, complete with tables and grills. Some offer sun, others shade - take your pick. These spots are ideal for family get-togethers or birthday celebrations, but you might want to reserve pavilions ahead of time for larger gatherings.

You won't have to worry about bathroom breaks, as clean restrooms are available at various locations, including near the dog park entrance and at trailheads. The park also features multiple playgrounds, volleyball courts, and plenty of benches where you can simply sit and take in the lake views.

Year-round, Concord Park hosts various community events and activities. The diverse landscape and amenities make it a popular spot for outdoor recreation in the Knoxville area.
