About Edgewood Park
A North Knoxville Green Haven
Positioned in North Knoxville, Edgewood Park offers 3.19 acres of urban greenery where you can catch your breath from city life. It's not the biggest park you'll ever visit, but what it lacks in size, it makes up for in charm and accessibility.
You'll discover the park conveniently nestled next to the Larry Cox Senior Center and the North Knoxville Library - perfect if you want to combine a relaxing outdoor visit with other errands. The paved walking path that circles the park is ideal for a casual stroll or a quick morning jog to start your day right.
Nature's Touches
One of our favorite features here is the small stream that meanders through the grounds. There's something inherently peaceful about the sound of running water, isn't there? The decorative stone slabs crossing the stream add a whimsical touch - go ahead and hop across them, even adults need a little fun sometimes.
The park maintains some lovely grassy areas that practically beg for a picnic blanket. And those mature trees? They create perfect pockets of shade during Tennessee's warmer months when the sun feels like it's out to get you.
Play and Exercise Options
If you're bringing kids along, they'll appreciate the playground with its swings and various climbing equipment. The thoughtful layout means you can keep an eye on them while using other amenities yourself.
Tennis enthusiasts will enjoy the two tennis courts which also feature pickleball lines - a thoughtful dual-purpose design that's becoming increasingly popular. You'll often find friendly locals here ready for a casual game if you're looking for a partner.
For those committed to their fitness routines, the outdoor exercise equipment lets you work out while breathing fresh air instead of gym fumes. It's conveniently positioned near the playground, so parents can squeeze in some exercise while the kids play.
Community Connections
The park functions as a neighborhood gathering spot. The covered shelter with picnic tables is good for small get-togethers or family meals outdoors. Need to charge your phone? The shelter has electrical outlets - a convenient feature.
You'll discover benches scattered around the grounds when you just want to sit and enjoy some quiet time or perhaps read a book from the nearby library. The park welcomes visitors from 7AM to 9PM daily, giving you plenty of time to enjoy this little green oasis.
Good to Know
A heads-up before you visit: there are no public restrooms in the park, so plan accordingly. Parking can be somewhat limited, especially during popular times, so you might want to arrive early if visiting on weekends or during events.
Dog owners, feel free to bring your furry friends, but remember they need to stay leashed at all times. And as with any shared space, doing your part to keep the park clean ensures everyone can enjoy this little slice of nature in the city.
