About Rose Park in Nashville
E.S. Rose Park is a 24-acre community facility located in Nashville, Tennessee. Situated on the historic Edgehill Civil War battleground area, the park serves as a shared space for local residents, schools, and Belmont University athletics.
The park underwent significant renovations in 2010-2011, with an $8 million investment from Belmont University to upgrade the facilities. These improvements were designed to meet NCAA Division I standards while also enhancing recreational opportunities for the surrounding community.
E.S. Rose Park features a variety of athletic fields and facilities. The baseball field has 750 seats and uses synthetic turf, while the softball field has 250 seats and natural grass. There is also a 300-seat track and soccer facility with synthetic turf for safety and speed. Additionally, the park includes relocated basketball courts and a walking track accessible to the public.
A single-story, 5,150-square-foot center provides public restrooms, a concession stand, and serves as a training facility. The park also includes a playground with a canopy and safety cushions for younger visitors.
The Metro Parks and Recreation department owns and controls the scheduling of E.S. Rose Park. While Belmont University's athletic teams use the facilities, the park remains open to the public from dawn to dusk, except when reserved for scheduled events. This arrangement promotes collaboration between Metro Parks, local schools, neighborhood organizations, and Belmont University.
