Found in Arlington, Texas, Gene Schrickel, Jr. Park spans a cozy 15 acres of neighborhood greenspace. The park's 0.34-mile hike and bike trail meanders through the property - ideal for when you need a quick outdoor fix without committing to a major expedition.

The natural areas scattered throughout create a peaceful retreat and serve as home to local wildlife. It's the kind of place where you can decompress during a lunch break or enjoy a leisurely stroll when you need to clear your head.

Recreation Features

Fishing enthusiasts will appreciate the pond area where you can cast a line and enjoy some quiet time with nature. Keep an eye out for the turtles and small fish that call the pond home - they're fun to watch as they go about their day.

If you're bringing kids along, you're in luck. The park has recently updated playground equipment that was renovated in 2023. With bright colors and sun shades (a blessing during Texas summers), the playground is thoughtfully divided into areas for the little ones (2-5) and older children (5-12). The play structures include everything from slides and swings to a xylophone for budding musicians and a rope climbing tunnel for the more adventurous kids.

There's also an informal practice field where you can fly kites, practice your disc golf throws, or just run around freely - whatever moves you.

Planning a small gathering? The park features a 40'x40' pavilion that can accommodate up to 25 people. With electricity and a large grill at your disposal, it makes hosting outdoor get-togethers much more convenient.

Note that the park doesn't have public restrooms, but there is a convenience store nearby if you're in a pinch. The park welcomes visitors daily from 5AM to 10PM.
