About the Location
A Touch of Local History
Found in College Station, Texas, W.A. Tarrow Park carries a name with deep roots in the community. Named after the former principal of Lincoln High School, this 24-acre green space isn't just a place to play - it's a piece of local heritage.
The park's story is woven into College Station's development. At its heart stands the Lincoln Recreation Center, originally part of the A&M Consolidated Negro School campus. In 1994, renovations connected the center with Wayne Smith Park, and by 1998, the whole area was officially christened W.A. Tarrow Park, preserving an important chapter of community history.
