About Martin Weiss Park in Dallas

Martin Weiss Park is a 14.8-acre community park located in Dallas, Texas. Established in 1930, it serves as a recreational hub for the local community. The park is named after Martin Weiss, a successful businessman who owned and operated a millinery supply business in Dallas.

In 1928, Martin Weiss purchased and preserved the historic Hord home for use as a community center. He later donated $65,000 for the construction of a community building. In 1935, the Park Board officially named both the center and the park after Martin Weiss, recognizing his contributions to the community.

The park features a variety of outdoor recreational facilities, including sports fields, a playground, and a pool. It also houses the Martin Weiss Recreation Center, which offers additional indoor amenities and programs for residents.

Martin Weiss Park provides a serene environment with green spaces and walking trails, allowing individuals and families to enjoy nature and unwind. The park's location on the outskirts of a sprawling suburb makes it easily accessible to the surrounding residential areas.
