Klyde Warren Park

Urban Oasis

Built over the Woodall Rodgers Freeway, Klyde Warren Park is a 5.2-acre green space in downtown Dallas that quite literally bridges gaps. This ingenious space connects the Uptown neighborhood with the Arts District and downtown, turning what was once a concrete divider into a community connector.

Since opening in 2012, it's become a popular gathering space, drawing over a million people annually who come to relax, play, and take a break from the urban environment without leaving the city.

Engineering Marvel

Let's take a moment to appreciate the cool factor here - this is a park floating above an active freeway. What was once a noisy barrier splitting the city has been transformed into a space connecting different parts of Dallas.

Stretching across three city blocks between Pearl and St. Paul streets, the park offers some pretty sweet views of the Dallas skyline that make for an impressive backdrop to your afternoon stroll or morning yoga session.

Things to Do

Klyde Warren offers a variety of activities. You'll come across expansive lawns well-suited for picnicking, winding walking paths for your daily steps, a children's park for the little ones, a dog park for your four-legged friends, and refreshing water features that provide welcome relief during Texas summers.

Fancy a bit of friendly competition? The park offers free games scattered throughout, including giant chess (where you're the size of the pieces, not the other way around), table tennis tables, foosball, and even tetris. All these games are free to use.

Year-round, the park hosts numerous complimentary events - from morning fitness classes and evening concerts to educational workshops.

Kid-Friendly Zone

The children's playground features modern equipment designed for kids of different ages, making it a popular spot for families. During summer months, the splash pad becomes the star attraction, offering an ideal (and free) way to beat the Texas heat.

Grab a Bite

If you get hungry, check out the row of food trucks that line one side of the park. The rotating selection includes options like tacos, bánh mì, ice cream, and coffee, providing choices for various tastes.

Plenty of tables and chairs dot the park, often shaded by trees or structures, giving you comfortable spots to sit and savor your finds.

Green by Design

The park's design incorporates sustainable elements. The park includes native Texas plant species, with over 300 trees providing shade and greenery amid the urban environment. Behind the scenes, smart features like a stormwater management system work to minimize environmental impact.
