About Valley View Park in Dallas

Valley View Park is a 27.4-acre community park located in Dallas, Texas. Established in 1956, this park offers a serene and picturesque setting for visitors to enjoy nature and outdoor activities.

The park serves as a trailhead for the White Rock Creek Trail, a fully paved biking, walking, skating, and jogging trail that leads all the way to White Rock Lake. This connection to a larger trail network enhances the park's appeal for outdoor enthusiasts and provides extended recreational opportunities.

In 2024, the park unveiled a new nature trail, adding to its existing features. This trail connects with the larger White Rock Creek trail network and runs through 7.5 acres of forested area. The addition of this natural trail offers visitors a chance to experience one of the largest forested spaces in North Dallas, providing a peaceful retreat within the urban environment.

Valley View Park is not only a recreational space but also a community gathering point. The park hosts bi-annual clean-up days, demonstrating the local community's involvement in maintaining and enhancing this green space.

For families with children, the park includes a playground that has been positively reviewed for its safety and visibility. A 2019 assessment gave the playground an overall grade of A, noting that there were no broken or missing parts on the equipment and that children could be easily viewed while playing.
