Joe Skiles Park is a 5.5-acre neighborhood park located in Denton, Texas. Situated approximately 3.9 miles from the Denton Square, it offers a variety of recreational facilities for local residents and visitors.
The park features a playground area that includes multiple slides, with a rock climbing entrance providing access to the top. There are four swings available for children to enjoy. For sports enthusiasts, the park boasts a basketball court equipped with three goals, allowing for various game configurations.
Joe Skiles Park underwent a significant renovation, which was completed in 2024. The improvements were funded by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and park dedication fees. As part of this renovation, a new quarter-mile trail was added to the park, enhancing opportunities for walking and jogging.
On June 1, 2024, the park celebrated its grand reopening, coinciding with National Trails Day. The event, led by Denton's Mayor Hudspeth, showcased the park's new amenities and encouraged community engagement in outdoor activities.
