Found in Denton, Texas, North Lakes Park stretches across an impressive 351 acres of green space. You can find this gathering space on W. Windsor Drive, just a quick 9-minute drive (about 3.2 miles) from the Denton Square.

This sprawling park has a bit of everything for everyone - from peaceful nature trails to buzzing sports fields. One thing we really appreciate is how well-maintained the grounds are. Natural Features

The two lakes at the heart of the park really set the scene. They're not just pretty to look at (though they definitely are) - they're also great spots for fishing. If you're patient, you might reel in some bass or catfish like other park-goers have.

Winding around the lakes and across the park are both concrete and soft-surface trails. There's a nicely marked path that loops for about a mile - well-suited for a casual stroll or a morning jog without having to track your distance.

If you're into native plants, you'll love the wildflower trails and pollinator prairie. These areas showcase local flora and create homes for all sorts of wildlife. It's a little slice of Texas nature right in the city.

The 17,417-square-foot North Lakes Recreation Center offers various indoor recreation options. Inside, you'll come across a cardio room, weight room, and an indoor court that accommodates basketball, volleyball, and pickleball. There are also three multi-purpose areas available to rent for various activities or events.

Dog-Friendly Areas

Four-legged family members aren't forgotten here. A dedicated dog park sits at one end of the property, making it a go-to spot for local pet owners. Beyond that, the open spaces within the park provide plenty of room for walking and training activities.

The park has a welcoming attitude toward dogs, but you should remember to clean up after your pet, especially on the trails. Nobody wants that surprise on their morning walk!
