About the Location
History
Buck Sansom Park's history dates back to 1927 when the initial land acquisition began. Sam Rosen, a Northside real estate developer, sold 32.57 acres to the City of Fort Worth for park purposes.
Subsequently, Marion Sansom, Jr. donated 40 acres and sold an additional 67 acres, forming the core of what would become Buck Sansom Park. It was officially dedicated in 1937.

The park spans approximately 131.6 acres and is part of the City of Fort Worth's Marine Creek Park Corridor, which includes several other parks in the area.
