About the Location

A Bit of History

Positioned in southeast Fort Worth, Cobb Park spreads across a generous 224.8 acres along the peaceful Sycamore Creek. This green space has been around since 1923, when H. H. Cobb of the Belcher Land and Mortgage Company offered the city 125 acres of creekside land.

During the 1930s, the park got a little facelift thanks to New Deal programs, which added those charming low stone walls you'll see edging the scenic drive today.

What You'll Find

The landscape here strikes an excellent balance between wooded areas and open spaces, giving you plenty of options whether you're looking for an active day out or just a peaceful retreat. The scenic trail system is fantastic for a morning jog, leisurely walk, or bike ride, while Sycamore Creek adds that special touch of natural beauty to your outdoor experience.

Cobb Park combines natural beauty and recreational opportunities across its spacious grounds.

Getting Active

Kids of all ages will love the multiple playground areas designed with different age groups in mind. From toddlers to teenagers, there's equipment for everyone, including classic swings and slides that never go out of style.

If basketball is more your thing, head over to the courts for a friendly game. The park also features large open grassy areas that are just begging for a frisbee toss, soccer match, or whatever sport strikes your fancy. Parents will appreciate how the open layout makes it easy to keep an eye on the little ones while they play.

Picnic Paradise

If you're planning a family gathering, you'll find pavilions and tables scattered throughout the park, offering shade for picnics and celebrations.

You'll also find grilling areas that make this a go-to spot for weekend cookouts. And don't worry about cleanup - there are plenty of trash cans conveniently placed around the grounds.

Recent Improvements

Since 2011, Cobb Park has been undergoing renovations to make it even more welcoming and accessible. These improvements are part of a thoughtful master plan aimed at enhancing the park experience for everyone.

One of the coolest additions has been the new playgrounds, including a unique rock boulder play area that adds a touch of adventure to playtime.

Community Heart

The park is a popular gathering spot for Fort Worth residents who come to enjoy nature, exercise, or spend time with family and friends.

The park hosts various community events throughout the year, from car shows to holiday celebrations.

Good to Know

When you visit, you'll come across parking lots with plenty of space. Bathroom-wise, the park currently offers portable toilets that are regularly maintained.

Stay hydrated during your adventures with the park's drinking water stations conveniently placed across the grounds.
