Positioned in Garland, Texas, Peavy Park is a cozy little green retreat off Warwick Street. Just a short stroll from North Garland High School, this triangular escape spans 2.2 acres and offers a breath of fresh air for locals needing a quick escape from the daily grind.

With its welcoming atmosphere and open space, it's an ideal spot to unwind or let the kids burn off some energy.

Fresh Look for 2022

The park got a nice facelift in March 2022, thanks to Garland's 2019 Bond program. Out with the old swings, in with the new playground equipment!

The updated play area now invites children to climb, slide, and explore with its creative designs and eye-catching colors - definitely a step up from what was there before.

What You'll Find

The heart of Peavy Park is its generous open field, excellent for tossing a frisbee, playing catch, or just sprawling out on the grass with a good book. There's plenty of room to move around, whether you're organizing an impromptu soccer game or just looking for space to stretch your legs.

Heads up: you won't find restrooms or water fountains here, so plan accordingly. The playground area does feature some decorative walkie-talkie megaphones that look cool but are just for show - though kids still love pretending with them.

When to Visit

This little park comes alive before and after school hours, when students from nearby schools drop by to hang out.

While it might not be a destination park for those living across town, for neighbors within walking distance, it's that perfect little spot for a quick picnic, casual game, or community get-together without having to venture far from home.
