About the Location
Youth Golf Development
F.M. Law Park is a specialized golf facility designed primarily for youth development through the game of golf. The park is home to the First Tee of Greater Houston, a chapter of the national First Tee organization, which aims to teach character development and life skills to young people using golf as a platform.
Golf Course Features
The centerpiece of F.M. Law Park is its 9-hole golf course, which measures 2,473 yards from the longest tees and plays to a par of 34. The course was specifically designed for the Houston Parks and Recreation Department's Junior Golf Program and features multiple tee options to accommodate players of different skill levels.
This design makes it particularly suitable for young golfers who are learning the game.
Practice Facilities
In addition to the golf course, the park boasts a comprehensive practice facility. This includes a lighted 80-station driving range, allowing golfers to practice their long game even in the evening hours.
There are also dedicated putting and chipping greens, providing opportunities for short game improvement.
Learning Center
The park features an indoor learning center equipped with practice facilities and video analysis technology. This center serves as a hub for golf instruction and educational programs offered by the First Tee of Greater Houston.
Access Guidelines
F.M. Law Park operates under specific guidelines to ensure its primary mission of youth golf development is met. While the facility is open to the public, priority is given to registered participants of the First Tee program, who range in age from 7 to 18 years old.
Adults are generally required to be accompanied by a First Tee participant when using the facilities.
