About Hobart Taylor Park
Where History Meets Recreation
Positioned in northeast Houston's Settegast neighborhood, this 7-acre green haven has been a community cornerstone since 1959. It's a piece of local heritage that continues to evolve with its community.
As part of the Houston HOPE Program (an initiative breathing new life into historic neighborhoods), Hobart Taylor Park got a serious glow-up. In 2022, Mayor Sylvester Turner unveiled renovations that transformed this decades-old space into something the whole neighborhood can be proud of.
Something for Everyone
Whether you're a fitness buff or just looking for a peaceful afternoon outdoors, this park has plenty of options. The freshly resurfaced walking trail stretches 0.49 miles - well-suited for a quick jog or a contemplative stroll under the Texas sky.
Sports more your thing? The lighted sports field means the fun doesn't have to end when the sun goes down, and the covered basketball court attracts local ballers looking to practice their jump shots regardless of the weather.
Kids have plenty of space to burn energy at the playground area complete with swings. And when Houston's infamous heat kicks in, the splash pad becomes the neighborhood's favorite cooling station for little ones.
ADSUV Airport Transfer in Houston
We provide a private airport pickup & transfer from IAH George Bush Intercontinental Airport or Hobby Airport to the destination of your choice anywhere within the city limits of our beautiful City of Houston. Our city is spread far & wide, so destinations outside of the Houston City Limits may be subject to extra charges.
Get Your Fitness Fix
The park's outdoor workout equipment stations let you strength train while enjoying fresh air and sunshine.
The biking and walking trail offers a clean, well-maintained path for those morning runs or evening walks. After the recent renovations, it's become an even more pleasant place to maintain your fitness routine.
Gather and Connect
The picnic areas come with tables, benches, and barbecue pits for family reunions, birthday celebrations, or weekend cookouts with friends.
The park features a swimming pool with six lap lanes, which is especially popular during the sweltering summer months.
Nature and Learning
Beyond recreation, the park is a living classroom with its coastal prairie habitat. This natural resources project (2015-2020), developed in partnership with the National Wildlife Federation, offers a glimpse into Texas's native ecosystems.

ADHouston and Space Center 7-Hour Combination Tour
The genesis of Houston began as The Allen brothers—Augustus and John Allen—explored Buffalo Bayou and Galveston Bay for potential land sites to establish a new town in 1837. Their investment of less than $5,000 seems incredulous as one now looks at one of the most beautiful cities in the United States.
