Spread across 5.6 acres, this City of Lewisville space has activities for the whole family - it's a popular spot among locals.

The playground features separate areas for different age groups. Little ones under 4 have their own specially designed play structure, while the big kids' equipment encourages thinking, planning, and problem-solving while playing. You can find all the classics too - monkey bars and swings, including a pretty cool tandem swing where you can sway alongside your child instead of just watching from the sidelines.

Don't want to miss your workout? The park's outdoor fitness stations include leg press machines and other equipment that let you squeeze in some exercise while the kids play.

When hunger strikes, head to the pavilion with covered picnic tables where you can enjoy some shade while you eat. There's even a barbecue pit for those days when you're feeling ambitious enough to cook outdoors.

A Touching History

Behind the park's name lies a sweet but poignant story. Austin Kent Ellis was just five months old when he visited this park with his parents, Carol and Kent Ellis, back in 1986. Though his life was brief, this green space honors the joy he found here during his short time.

The park is thoughtfully designed to be handicap-accessible, ensuring that visitors of all mobility levels can enjoy what it has to offer.

Bringing your four-legged friend? No problem. The park is dog-friendly, and you'll find waste bag stations throughout, so there's no excuse not to clean up.

Fresh Updates

After reopening in May 2024 following renovations, the park now boasts new playground equipment that's part of the Texas Recreation Parks Society's statewide healthy play initiative. This program aims to get people of all abilities moving and playing together.

One major improvement parents will appreciate: many of the play areas and swings are now shaded, protecting kids from the Texas sun. The well-maintained grassy areas are excellent for spreading out a blanket, diving into a good book, or simply gathering with friends for some outdoor time.
