About the Location
A Natural Retreat
Found in Lewisville, Texas, Fox Creek Greenbelt Park spans 29 acres of tranquil green space - a great escape when you need a break from the urban hustle. This peaceful spot offers a refreshing dose of nature with its lush greenery and winding trails that invite you to slow down and breathe a little deeper.
The park's natural setting creates a quiet sanctuary where you can reconnect with the outdoors without having to venture far from the city.
Hit the Trails
If you're a casual walker or dedicated runner, the trails here accommodate all fitness levels. We particularly appreciate the good tree coverage along certain sections - that shade is absolutely golden during those scorching Texas summer days.
One trail meanders alongside a sprawling open field and a water runoff area before reaching its endpoint at Bellair. From there, you'll need to double back as it's a dead end. If you're looking for a longer route, some paths connect toward Central Park, giving you options to extend your outdoor time.
Fun for Everyone
Got little ones in tow? The park features a covered playground that's meant for younger children (think age 6 and under). For the more athletically inclined, there's a basketball court with lighting for those evening pickup games.
Planning to make a day of it? You'll discover picnic tables and grills scattered around the park - ideal spots to enjoy a family meal or casual get-together in the fresh air.
Nature's Corner
Beyond recreation, Fox Creek functions as a green space and wildlife corridor in the community. Take a moment to pause on the bridge crossing the creek - you might spot snapping turtles going about their day in the water below.
It's a lovely spot for some quiet nature observation, however you should know that the creek area occasionally collects some litter.
Getting Around
You can access the park from several entry points, but be prepared for a steep slope if you're coming from the west side. Note that recent construction has affected access from the southern approach, with some areas now fenced off.
Just a heads up - there are no restroom facilities or functioning water fountains within the park, so plan accordingly before your visit.
