About the Location

Where to Find It

Nestled along the shoreline of Lake Lewisville in Texas, Lake Park sprawls across 662 acres just east of Mill Street and about three-quarters of a mile from I-35.

The City of Lewisville manages this natural getaway on land they lease from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

What's Inside

Lake Park naturally divides into four main sections: the Lake Park Golf Course, athletic facilities, day use areas, and lake-related amenities.

The lake-related features - campgrounds, beaches, docks, boat ramps, and picnic spots - draw people from all over the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex looking for a refreshing escape.

Things to Do

You'll find no shortage of activities here. Golf enthusiasts can enjoy the 18-hole course, while disc golf players can test their skills on the 18-hole disc golf course that winds along the shoreline, offering some pretty spectacular lake views along the way.

If team sports are more your thing, the park boasts several lighted fields for soccer, baseball, softball, and football. The baseball and soccer fields are kept in great condition, with concession stands open during game times.

For families and the young at heart, there are playgrounds scattered within the park. On hot summer days, the swimming beaches with their sandy shores provide a fantastic cooling spot - though you might want to bring water shoes as the occasional fishing hook or line could be lurking in the sand.

Amenities

Planning to stay overnight? The camping areas come equipped with restrooms and picnic shelters. The RV camping section offers beautiful lake views and works well for a weekend getaway.

For events and gatherings, you can reserve the Conner Pavilion or Pike Pavilion, or opt for the group picnic area. Across the park, you'll discover numerous picnic tables with grills - many offering shade and lovely views of the lake.

Restrooms are available in the main areas, but you might encounter portable facilities during busy periods. Note that weekend and holiday visits come with a $10 per vehicle entrance fee, while weekday access is often free depending on the season.

Natural Beauty

What really makes Lake Park special is its natural setting. The abundant trees and Lake Lewisville backdrop create perfect conditions for fishing, boating, and spotting local wildlife.

The sunrise and sunset views over the water are truly memorable - a favorite among photographers. If you enjoy quiet walks, the shoreline trails offer peaceful strolls with ever-changing vistas of the lake and surrounding landscape.
