Preston Smith Park

Play & Sports Areas

At the corner of 15th and Chicago, Preston Smith Park offers a playground area where kiddos can climb, slide, and burn off energy in a safe environment. The well-maintained tennis courts are great for a casual rally or a match with friends.

If team sports are more your thing, you'll find volleyball courts and basketball courts. Weekend pickup games or friendly competition are always an option here.

Chill & Celebrate Spots

Need a place for your next family gathering? The park features a reserved picnic area complete with a shaded pavilion to escape that intense Texas heat. The setup includes tables and a good-sized charcoal grill - ideal for everything from birthday parties to church picnics or just a Sunday afternoon cookout with friends.

There's also plenty of open green space where the kids (or adults who are kids at heart) can run wild and free - excellent for frisbee, catch, or just rolling down a grassy hill.

Nature Vibes

One of the park's best features has to be the mature shade trees scattered throughout the grounds. These leafy giants provide welcome relief from the scorching sun and create those perfect dappled-light spots for spreading out a blanket and relaxing with a good book.

Preston Smith Park offers a green space in this Lubbock neighborhood where you can enjoy fresh air and nature.
