At the heart of Cowden Park sits a disc golf course popular with disc golf players. The clever layout features 9 baskets that, through some creative positioning, offer 19 different holes to play. A nice way to maximize the available space.

If you're looking to tackle all 19 holes, you'll come across some of the back 10 tee positions on grass or even played from the street - adding a bit of urban flair to your game. First-timers might want to pull up the UDisc app for navigation help, especially when trying to locate all those holes.

Kid-Friendly Play Zone

The playground area at Cowden is popular with children. It's thoughtfully designed with equipment that works for different ages - you'll come across swings for both toddlers and bigger kids, some climbing structures for the adventurous ones, a balance beam for the coordinated (or aspiring-to-be), and even a merry-go-round seating area.

Parents of toddlers, take note: this playground is particularly well-suited for your little ones. The large trees surrounding the area provide welcome shade during hot Texas days.

What Else You'll Find

Beyond disc golf and playgrounds, Cowden Park offers plenty of space to just be. The open green spaces are ideal for impromptu games of catch, picnic blankets, or just cloud-watching. There's even a small soccer field nestled in a slight depression that naturally keeps balls from rolling away too far.

You'll find several shaded picnic tables and benches scattered throughout, with the highest concentration near the playground (smart planning there). A walking path loops around part of the park - great for your daily steps, dog walks, or just stretching your legs. The park offers good wheelchair accessibility and flat pathways that are meant for kids still wobbly on their bike training wheels.

Spanning 10 acres, there's plenty of room to find your own space in this local favorite. Just remember to plan ahead as there are no public restrooms on site. There is a small parking lot if you're coming from further away.
