A Player's Paradise: Athletic Fields Done Right
Found in Plano, Heritage Yards is where softball dreams come to life. This athletic complex hosts adult softball leagues and tournaments throughout most of the year, creating a home base for players of all skill levels.
The facility features nine lighted softball fields complete with scoreboards and plenty of shade for spectators. We particularly love the grandstand seating at championship field #1 - great for those bigger games when you want to feel like you're at the majors. Each field features clay irrigated infields paired with grass outfields, and they're treated with MasterTurf so games can resume quickly after those surprise Texas showers.
Fields That Flex With Your Needs
What makes Heritage Yards special is its adaptability. Need baseball configurations? No problem. The fields can transform from Coach Pitch setups to 50/70' dimensions using temporary mounds and fencing. This flexibility is a huge plus for local leagues and tournament organizers.
A quick heads-up: the field numbering system can be a bit confusing at first. You might want to check field locations before your game to avoid that last-minute scramble. This place is dedicated to baseball and softball - ideal if those sports are your thing.
Comfort and Convenience
Security is solid here with permanent fencing and three entry gates that keep the complex feeling safe and organized.
You can find multiple restroom facilities scattered around the park, so you're never too far from one no matter which field you're playing on. There are shaded bleachers for watching games, but they can fill up fast during tournaments.
Hungry? Mobile concession stands offer the classics - burgers, hot dogs, and even breakfast tacos for those early morning games. Some regular visitors mention that adding vending machines would be a nice touch for between-game snacks.
Beyond the Baseline
Heritage Yards isn't just about sports. Families will appreciate the playground area where younger siblings can burn energy while big brother or sister is playing ball. The picnic areas are meant for team gatherings or family lunches between games.
Bring Fido along! The complex is dog-friendly, which is great news for those who hate leaving their furry friends behind. The whole park is clean, spacious, and well-kept - exactly what you want in a sports facility.
One thing to note: due to agreements with nearby homeowners' associations, you'll need to leave your playlist at home. Playing music (including those motivational walk-up songs) isn't allowed here.
Tournament Central
As one of Plano's standout softball facilities, Heritage Yards has become a go-to location for fast pitch showcases and competitive events. Its top-notch amenities and adaptable field setups make it attractive to both local teams and traveling tournament organizers.
Worried about parking during big events? Don't be. With 675 spaces available, there's plenty of room for everyone - even during those packed weekend tournaments.
