Horseshoe Park spans 8.9 acres in central Plano, adjacent to Hughston Elementary School. This neighborhood park provides various recreational opportunities for local residents.
The park includes open sports practice fields available on a first-come, first-served basis, providing space for various athletic activities.
Playground Area
The playground area caters to different age groups with a variety of equipment. There is a large swing area with six swings for older children and two baby swings.
The main play set is extensive, bookended by two slides and featuring various climbing structures, including ladders, monkey bars, and a swinging bridge. The playground also includes two fireman's poles and a built-in Tic Tac Toe game.
For added entertainment, there are talking poles in the middle of the playground, perfect for games of telephone.
Relaxation Spaces
For those seeking relaxation, the park offers covered picnic tables next to the play area, as well as tree-shaded benches closer to the playground.
Visitor Information
Visitors should note that there are no restroom facilities on-site. Additionally, some parts of the playground equipment have shown signs of wear, including broken edges on the yellow climbing structure and noticeable gaps at the bridge.
Some litter and graffiti have been reported in the past, but Horseshoe Park remains a popular destination for local families and individuals looking for outdoor recreation in a convenient neighborhood setting.
