About the Location

Escape to Nature

Found in Round Rock, Texas, Brightwater Park spans 11.4 acres of community greenspace that belongs to the Fern Bluff Municipal Utility District (MUD). This local spot is a neighborhood green space where residents gather, unwind, and connect with nature.

The park's thoughtful landscaping creates a refreshing outdoor retreat. Two magnificent oak trees stand as natural centerpieces, offering cool shade and irresistible climbing opportunities for the adventurous. After rain, the park takes on a vibrant hue as the landscape becomes refreshed and renewed.

Wander the Trails

A sprawling greenbelt cuts through the heart of the park, linking its two entrances and seamlessly blending into the broader Fern Bluff MUD trail network.

With 6,960 feet of concrete and crushed granite paths, you can easily enjoy a leisurely stroll or energizing run. Enter from Brightwater Blvd and you'll cross a charming decorative bridge that marks the beginning of a loop trail circling the entire park. There's also a second entrance on Columbia Falls Drive if that's more convenient for you.

The trails connect to the Brushy Creek Regional Trail, letting you extend your walk for miles beyond the park boundaries. In fall, the butterfly trail attracts numerous butterflies - worth checking out if you're visiting during this season.

Play and Unwind

Kids will gravitate toward the two expansive playscapes packed with slides and climbing challenges. The playground boasts a fun spiral slide, a classic straight slide, and four swings (including two designed specifically for toddlers). The equipment cleverly focuses on building upper body strength with horizontal ladders great for climbing and hanging.

Adults haven't been forgotten - an exercise station lets you squeeze in a workout while keeping your little ones within sight at the playground.

When it's time for gatherings, the park's large pavilion provides plenty of seating, making it ideal for birthday celebrations and family get-togethers. Around the grounds, you'll discover various picnic areas with tables thoughtfully placed under shady trees for comfortable outdoor dining.

Little Extras

The park maintains clean restrooms, but access may be limited at certain times. Beyond the magnificent shade trees, the landscaping includes colorful flower beds and even some fruit trees lining the walking paths.

You can find plenty of peaceful spots to sit and relax throughout the park. And for the Pokémon GO enthusiasts, Brightwater Park houses several Pokéstops, adding another layer of fun to your visit.
