About the Location

What to Do & See

Found in San Antonio, Bellaire Park offers a little something for everyone. If you're into skateboarding, you'll appreciate the skate park that's particularly welcoming for newcomers. It's not overwhelming - just some rails, a fun box for manuals, a small quarter pipe well-suited for practicing those first drop ins, and a small ramp rail. Nothing too intimidating for beginners, but enough to keep things interesting.

Need a bit of exercise? The park features a 0.15-mile decomposed granite trail that's well-suited for a casual stroll or a quick workout. And if you've got kids in tow, there's a playground area where they can burn off energy and make new friends.

Sports Options

Ballplayers can shoot some hoops on the well-kept half-court basketball area. It's typically buzzing with local residents working on their game. There's also a multipurpose field that's open for whatever activity strikes your fancy - frisbee, catch, or just lounging in the grass.

Places to Relax

For picnics, you'll find benches scattered throughout and a barbecue pit available for cookouts. There's something special about sharing a meal outdoors, whether it's a simple sandwich or a full-on grill session.

The Vibe

What you'll notice about Bellaire Park is its calm, neighborhood feel. It's the kind of place where locals nod hello and the atmosphere stays pretty relaxed. It's clean, open, and refreshingly low-key.

If you're planning a visit with little ones, you might want to come earlier in the day. Around 5-6pm, the park tends to attract an older crowd of kids and teenagers, which might not be ideal if you have toddlers or young children.

Good to Know

Keep in mind that you'll need to leave the adult beverages at home - alcohol isn't allowed in the park. Also, there aren't any public restrooms available, so plan accordingly.

Exciting changes are on the horizon, though. As part of the 2022-2027 Bond Project for District 3 Parks, Bellaire Park is getting some TLC, with facility rehabilitations that might include new restrooms. By 2025, your visit could include even more amenities to enjoy.
