Recent Enhancements
Maverick Park underwent significant improvements, with a major project completed in April 2021. These enhancements were funded by the voter-approved 2017 Bond Program and community donations, reflecting San Antonio's commitment to creating welcoming public spaces.
Future upgrades are planned as part of the 2022-2027 Bond Project, including security lighting, a pavilion, playground equipment, sidewalk renovations, and underground conversion of electrical services. These improvements are scheduled between Fall 2025 and Summer 2026.
Dog-Friendly Features
A standout feature is the one-acre dog park, which was part of the 2021 improvements. This dedicated canine space includes separate fenced sections for all dogs and small dogs, allowing pets of various sizes to play safely.
The dog park features engaging play structures such as tunnels, jumps, and hoops to keep dogs active and entertained.
