Harmon Park
About Harmon Park
Recreational Facilities
Situated in Provo, Harmon Park spans about 3.7 acres of community-friendly space where locals gather for all sorts of outdoor activities.
The park features two softball fields that do double duty as soccer fields when fall rolls around. These fields are open from March 1 through November 1 (weather permitting), however you won't find any lights for evening play. The softball diamonds have lush green grass that's well-maintained.
Field Specifications
The north field offers pitching distances of 35', 40', and 50', with base paths measuring 60' and 65'. Left field has a fence at 275', while right field opens up with no barrier in sight.
Over on the south field, you'll discover pitching distances of 35' and 40', bases set at 60', and a right field fence at 250'. Like its northern counterpart, one side (the left field) has no fence. Both fields come equipped with bleachers where you can cheer on your favorite players or just soak in the community atmosphere.
Open Space
Beyond the diamonds, Harmon Park offers plenty of green space dotted with magnificent shade trees that create perfect spots for spreading out a blanket or just lounging around.
The generous grassy areas invite casual games and gatherings - many locals bring their own portable volleyball nets to set up in the central area. There's something refreshingly simple about having all this open space that makes the park ideal for everything from frisbee tossing to birthday celebrations.

Park Amenities
You can find permanent restrooms available when nature calls, however they're fairly basic - nothing fancy, but they do the job.
The park's large shade trees are absolute lifesavers during Utah's hot summer months, especially if you're sitting through a softball game or enjoying an afternoon picnic.
The "Boat Park"
Perhaps the most charming feature here is the playground with its boat-themed structure. This unique play area has earned the park its affectionate local nickname: the "Boat Park."
The playground is particularly well-suited for the younger crowd, with slides and swings that seem to delight toddlers to no end. While it's not the most extensive play area you'll ever see, it provides a wonderful distraction for little ones, especially when older siblings or parents are involved in softball games nearby.
History
The park's story begins with Provo Kiwanis, who acquired the land thanks to a generous donation from New York philanthropist William Harmon.
In 1999, the park underwent a significant redevelopment that enhanced its facilities and cemented its place in the community's heart. Today, it remains an important recreational space for the Provo community.
