Recreational Spaces

The expansive grassy areas here see plenty of activity throughout the week. From organized league sports to impromptu frisbee games, these fields stay busy with activity. You'll often spot ROTC training maneuvers, cross-country runners getting their miles in, and various school clubs hosting activities.

What makes this park special is its interesting topography. The mix of flat fields and gentle hills creates natural divisions for different activities. The bowl area, in particular, tends to be a hub for sports and group gatherings - great for those weekend pickup games.

Sports Facilities

For evening play, The park features three lighted tennis courts that let you keep the game going after sunset. These well-maintained courts are popular with both locals and BYU students looking to perfect their serve.

If soccer is more your style, there's a dedicated field, but you might need to wait your turn during busy hours. Baseball fields round out the sporting options, giving athletes of all ages a place to play.

Playgrounds

Planning a gathering? Kiwanis Park offers four pavilions of different sizes that you can reserve for events. Pavilion #1, located closest to the restrooms, is particularly noteworthy with its stage area and proximity to the park's fire pit.

Don't need a formal setup? The park's mature trees provide shady spots for spreading out a blanket and enjoying a casual picnic. Whether you're organizing a family reunion or just meeting friends for lunch, the combination of open spaces and tree cover creates an ideal setting.

Unique Features

Kiwanis is the only park in the city with a fire pit, located next to pavilion #1. This feature allows for evening bonfires and campfire-style gatherings.

The park has also earned its place in local traditions as a popular spot for July 4th celebrations. Many community events find their home here, from the Freedom Festival 5K to the Provo Library's summer story times that bring books to life under the open sky.

Amenities

The practical stuff matters too. You can find clean, accessible restrooms that don't require a long trek from anywhere in the park. Drinking water is available when you need to refill your bottle, and trash cans are conveniently placed within the grounds.
