About Lions Park
Park Overview
Tucked away at the base of Grandview Hill in Provo, Utah, Lions Park spreads across a generous 12.8 acres. Since its creation in 1970, this public green space has been a local favorite for outdoor enthusiasts. One of the park's most charming features is the stream that meanders along its eastern edge, complete with quaint little bridges. If you're lucky, you might spot some ducks paddling along, adding to the park's peaceful vibe.
Recreational Facilities
Whether you're looking to break a sweat or just have some casual fun, Lions Park offers several options. Sports enthusiasts can take advantage of the baseball/softball fields and soccer grounds - well-suited for everything from impromptu kickabouts to organized league games.
If competitive sports aren't your thing, try your hand at the horseshoe pits or head to the playground. Kids will love the swings, slides, and climbing equipment, all set on a soft wood chip surface. Parents can keep an eye on the action from nearby benches while enjoying the surrounding scenery.

For smaller gatherings, there's a medium-sized pavilion that comfortably fits 75-100 people. And if you're just looking for a quiet spot to enjoy a sandwich, you can find individual picnic tables scattered across the park, particularly along the canal area.
Accessibility
Getting to and around Lions Park is relatively straightforward. The park offers 46 spaces of off-street parking split between two lots - a well-maintained paved main lot and a secondary overflow area. You can also access the park via neighborhood sidewalks or two stairways on the north and west sides.
What's particularly thoughtful about this park is its design with accessibility in mind. The pathways are wheelchair and stroller friendly, ensuring everyone can enjoy what the park has to offer regardless of mobility level.
Fitness Opportunities
For those interested in fitness, A 0.7-mile (1,500-step) paved trail loops around the park's perimeter, offering a scenic route for your daily walk or jog. The path is smooth and well-maintained, making it suitable for users of all fitness levels.
Looking for a more intense workout? Challenge yourself on the park's tall set of stairs that many locals use for cardio training. Nothing beats that burn in your calves as you push yourself to the top!

The gentle murmur of the stream creates a soothing soundtrack as you relax on the grass.
Take a moment to appreciate the sweeping views over Provo City, or get up close with the variety of plants that attract butterflies and other interesting insects. It's a small but vibrant ecosystem worth exploring.
