A Century of Riverside Charm

Nestled along the Jordan River since the early 1900s, Riverside Park has been Salt Lake City's peaceful waterside retreat for over a hundred years. The gentle flow of the river creates a tranquil backdrop that feels removed from city life, despite being right in SLC.

Green Space & Gathering Spots

Sprawling across 21 acres just east of the Jordan River bridge on 700 North, this park combines natural beauty with recreational opportunities. The covered pavilions come equipped with BBQ setups - ideal for those family reunions or birthday celebrations where you need a bit of shade and plenty of space.

The park's mature shade trees provide welcome relief during Utah's hot summer days. Need to stretch your legs? The Jordan River Trail connects directly to the park, well-suited for a bike ride or a leisurely stroll along the water.

Sports Central

Baseball has deep roots here, with some fields dating back to the 1950s. The park recently got an upgrade with new lighting on two baseball fields in 2024, thanks to a collaboration between the Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Foundation and Salt Lake City.

Beyond baseball, you can find well-maintained soccer fields, a basketball court, and plenty of open grassy areas where impromptu games of ultimate frisbee regularly break out.

Kid-Friendly Fun

Got little ones with energy to burn? The park features two distinct playground areas designed for children aged 2-11, complete with slides, climbing structures, and those spinning things kids can't seem to get enough of.

There's also a set of swings next to one of the playgrounds, with plenty of open space nearby - ideal for keeping an eye on the kids while enjoying a picnic lunch.

Natural Discoveries

The Jordan River setting creates a mini wildlife sanctuary right in the city. Keep your eyes peeled for various waterfowl gliding along the water, and if you're patient (and lucky), you might even spot beavers going about their business along the riverbank.

The creek access provides a little natural adventure spot that kids particularly love exploring.

Community Connection

Riverside Park also acts as a community gathering place throughout the year. You'll often find youth baseball league games in progress, little league football practices, and various seasonal celebrations bringing neighbors together.

Multiple restroom facilities are conveniently located across the grounds, including several single-person options and a larger multi-person restroom positioned between the baseball diamond and soccer field.
