About the Location

Modern Skating Facility

The West Jordan Skate Park is a state-of-the-art facility designed to cater to skateboarding enthusiasts of all skill levels. This concrete skatepark is part of the larger West Jordan Wheels Park, which spans approximately 20,000 square feet and is situated at the intersection of 8600 S and Ron Wood Park Road, just east of the pickleball courts at Ron Wood Park.

Diverse Skating Elements

The skatepark features a diverse range of elements that appeal to various riding styles and preferences. One of its main attractions is a large street plaza, which incorporates common urban skating obstacles such as stairs, ledges, and handrails.

This area allows riders to practice and perfect their street-style tricks in a safe, controlled environment.

Bowl Section

In addition to the street plaza, the West Jordan Skate Park boasts a bowl section, which is perfect for both skateboarders and BMX riders who enjoy transition-style riding. The bowl is designed with varying depths, featuring a 4-foot shallow end and a 6-foot deep end, providing challenges for riders of different skill levels.

Multi-Use Areas

The park also includes a multi-use plaza area, which is versatile enough to accommodate various wheeled activities. This space is particularly welcoming to beginner skaters and riders, as well as those interested in freestyle BMX and dance roller-skating.

The multi-use area spans approximately 4,200 square feet, with an additional 4,000 square feet of space dedicated to other activities.

Community-Driven Design

Designed with input from local skaters and advocacy groups, the West Jordan Skate Park incorporates unique features that set it apart from other skateparks. These elements include creative obstacles and skatable sculptures, enhancing the park's appeal and providing exciting challenges for users.

The skatepark is part of a larger recreational complex that aims to become a regional attraction, drawing visitors from across Salt Lake County. Its thoughtful design and diverse features make it an excellent destination for skateboarders, BMX riders, and other wheeled sports enthusiasts.
