About the Location

A Rider's Paradise

Located in West Jordan lies a concrete haven for wheel enthusiasts. The West Jordan Skate Park is part of the larger West Jordan Wheels Park, covering 20,000 square feet at the intersection of 8600 S and Ron Wood Park Road. You'll come across it just east of the pickleball courts at Ron Wood Park - a facility designed for skaters of all abilities.

Street Dreams Come True

At the heart of this park sits a spacious street plaza that mimics urban environments with stairs, ledges, and handrails. Here, you can practice your street-style tricks in a dedicated space. There's also plenty of flat ground - meant for nailing those basic moves before tackling the more challenging obstacles.

Bowl Life

If transition skating is more your style, you'll appreciate the park's bowl section. With its thoughtful design featuring a 4-foot shallow end that gradually deepens to 6 feet, this bowl caters to both cautious beginners and confident veterans. No matter if you're on a skateboard or BMX, the concrete curves are well-suited for carving and catching air.

Pump It Up

The park includes pump tracks designed with progression in mind. Two separate sections - one for beginners and another for those with more experience - allow riders to develop their skills gradually. These tracks are particularly sweet for BMX bikes and scooters, but be aware that larger mountain bikes might feel a bit cramped on the turns. It's a good spot to learn how to generate speed without pedaling or pushing.

Something for Everyone

The multi-use plaza area offers a versatile space spanning about 4,200 square feet, with an additional 4,000 square feet dedicated to other wheeled activities. This area welcomes those just starting out, as well as freestyle BMX riders and dance roller-skaters looking for open space. An interesting touch is the repurposed Kennecott haulage truck beds integrated into the park as rideable features.

The Practical Stuff

The amenities are fairly basic - you can find portable toilets on-site, but for permanent restrooms, head across to Ron Wood Park. There's also a large playground about 500 feet away if you're visiting with younger siblings or children.

Note that shade is limited and seating is sparse, so on sunny days, you might want to bring your own chair and some sun protection. The park is well-maintained and clean, with multiple spots where parents can safely watch the action unfold.

Built By Skaters, For Skaters

The park features a community-influenced design. Local skaters and advocacy groups contributed ideas, resulting in creative obstacles and skatable sculptures that give the park a distinctive character.

As part of a larger recreational complex, the West Jordan Skate Park attracts wheel enthusiasts from throughout Salt Lake County. The varied features accommodate different styles whether you're on a skateboard, BMX, or scooter.
