Park Overview

Found in West Valley City, West View Park covers about 5 acres of recreational space that locals have come to cherish. The park got a nice boost in 2022 with an additional 1.3 acres added just across the street from the original grounds. Despite being in an urban setting, the park is kept in good shape with nice landscaping and surprisingly little graffiti.

Facilities and Amenities

Planning a family reunion or birthday celebration? The park's covered pavilion might be just what you need, with enough room for up to 180 people. You'll come across picnic tables scattered throughout this area, and thankfully, garbage cans are placed right by the restrooms for convenience.

Kids will gravitate toward the modern play structures in the playground area, but these are better suited for older children. The playground features a sand surface for play, but heads up - there aren't any swings or equipment specifically designed for toddlers or very young children.

For the more active visitors, West View Park offers several options. There are tennis courts with a neighboring hill fantastic for watching matches, a basketball court for pickup games, and large open grassy areas that regularly host everything from soccer matches to softball practices. When nature calls, restroom facilities are available, but be aware they might sometimes be locked.

Community Use

Over the years, West View Park has become something of a second home for many local families. Some residents have been holding family gatherings and sports practices here for more than a decade. It's also become a favorite spot for dog owners, with plenty of open space for four-legged friends to run around and play. Just remember to clean up after your pup!

Future Developments

Exciting changes are on the horizon for West View Park. In 2023, the city announced plans for further improvements, including the addition of a challenge course. This new feature will offer fresh recreational opportunities and shows that West Valley City is invested in making its public spaces even better.

The West Valley City Parks and Recreation Department keeps West View Park in good condition for everyone to enjoy. You'll find the park in the southern part of West Valley City, making it a convenient destination for nearby residents. There is a parking lot available, but accessing it can be a bit tricky depending on which direction you're coming from.
