One of the most charming aspects of this park is the collection of birdhouses dotting the landscape. About 25 of these colorful homes for local birds were contributed by Del Ray residents, adding a touch of whimsy and community spirit while supporting local wildlife.

You might notice how well-kept the park is, particularly around the welcome sign. That's thanks to the Alexandria Police Special Operations team, who've adopted the park and maintain its landscaping - a fitting tribute to their fallen colleague.
