Deep Creek Park

Deep Creek Park is a sprawling 130-acre public recreational area located in Chesapeake, Virginia. Established in 2003, the park was developed on former agricultural land, with many of the original farm's trees preserved during its construction.

The park features a diverse array of sports facilities, including four lighted baseball fields designed for Bronco and Pony league play, as well as four multipurpose fields, two of which are illuminated. These fields are surfaced with durable Bermuda turf to ensure optimal playing conditions. The sports areas cater to organized leagues and casual recreational use alike.

A centerpiece of Deep Creek Park is its innovative, fully accessible playground. This "Destination Playground" was specifically designed with special needs children in mind, though it provides entertainment for children of all abilities. The playground's rubberized surface ensures safety beneath swings, climbing structures, and other play equipment.

For those seeking a more tranquil experience, the park offers a one-mile perimeter trail suitable for walking, jogging, or cycling. This trail connects to the larger Dismal Swamp Canal Trail, providing extended exploration opportunities. The park also features several fishing ponds, allowing visitors to engage in recreational angling.

Dog owners will appreciate the park's dedicated dog area, which includes a water feature. However, it's worth noting that an annual membership is required to access this facility.
