About the Location
A Peaceful Hideaway
Located at the end of NE 35th Street near the Redmond Park Apartments, this 7.64-acre park offers a tranquil escape from Bellevue's urban environment. Its somewhat tucked-away location is actually part of its charm, creating that peaceful vibe that makes it special.
Regulars have a real affection for this place - one even calls it their "happy place" for evening strolls and soaking in the greenery. If you're lucky, you might spot squirrels and other woodland creatures darting through the beautiful forested areas.
Places to Play and Wander
The park has both natural spaces and recreational areas. Short walking trails meander through the grounds, excellent for a bit of light exercise or simply communing with nature.
We particularly like the bark-covered loop trail that winds through the woods. It's well-maintained with fresh wood chips added periodically, providing a cushioned circular path that offers a break from city surroundings.
There are also open grassy areas suitable for frisbee games, family picnics, or relaxing with a book.
Kid-Friendly Spots
If you're bringing little ones along, the playground offers a great place for them to burn off energy. The play area includes swings, slides, and other equipment that works particularly well for toddlers and younger children.
For the slightly older crowd, there's a basketball court for shooting hoops or playing games. Several picnic tables are scattered across the park, and the grassy expanses provide plenty of room to spread out a blanket for lunch.
A Touch of Wilderness
The park feels surprisingly natural despite its modest 7.64 acres. The wooded sections create a natural atmosphere in suburban Bellevue, making the park feel larger than its actual size.
The well-maintained trails let you experience this natural setting up close. Since it's rarely crowded, you can enjoy nature without having to travel far from the city.
The Basics
For practical matters, there's a porta-potty available for restroom needs. You'll come across trash cans around the grounds to help keep things tidy.
Street parking is limited but usually sufficient given the typically light visitor traffic. The park is especially popular with folks living in nearby apartments and families from the surrounding neighborhood.
