Wilburton Hill Park

Park Overview

Covering 105.49 acres, Wilburton Hill Park is Bellevue's largest upland park. Located at 12400 Main Street, this green space has options for both active recreation and relaxation in nature. The gates are open daily from 6:30 AM to 8:30 PM, giving you plenty of time to explore.

Natural Features

Wandering through Wilburton provides a peaceful escape from the city. The trails meander through lush, second-growth forest, creating perfect pathways for a peaceful morning jog or an afternoon stroll. These paths aren't isolated - they're actually part of the Lake to Lake Trail and Greenway System that connects you to other Bellevue escapes.

On hot summer days, the abundant shade from the towering trees provides welcome relief. One of our favorite spots has to be the charming suspension bridge that crosses over a gentle brook - it's an ideal place to pause, breathe deep, and reconnect with nature for a moment.

Sports Facilities

For the more active visitors, Wilburton doesn't disappoint. The park houses two baseball fields and a soccer field with freshly renovated turf that local teams and casual players flock to year-round.

If you're looking to get your steps in, there's a dedicated running track circling the sports fields. The fields come with lighting for evening games, though it's worth noting the illumination could use some upgrading.

Family-Friendly Amenities

The Wilburton playground is a hit with children. The zip line is especially popular, and the wooden play houses and spider-web climber provide plenty of entertainment for children. The train-themed play structure and rope climbing structure that doubles as a merry-go-round are unique features of this play area.

Parents, you'll appreciate the sitting-height walls surrounding parts of the playground - they provide convenient perches to watch your children while giving your feet a break. And while the kids play, you can sneak in a workout at the exercise equipment positioned strategically nearby.

Dog-Friendly Features

Four-legged family members haven't been forgotten at Wilburton. Near the playground, you'll discover a fenced dog park where your pup can run free while you chat with fellow dog lovers. Throughout the rest of the park, leashed dogs are welcome, and you can find waste bags available to help keep the grounds pristine.

Picnic Areas

There are picnic tables scattered around the park for when you need a meal break. Regardless of whether you're planning a casual lunch or a small gathering, these first-come, first-served spots offer great options. The park's abundant shade helps keep picnic areas comfortable even during warmer months.

Wilburton offers several practical amenities. Clean restrooms near the parking lot mean you don't have to cut your visit short, and the spacious parking lot means you're likely to find a spot even during peak times.

Nearby Attractions

Make a day of it by combining your park visit with a stop at the adjacent Bellevue Botanical Garden. After traversing Wilburton's trails, you can wander through meticulously curated plant collections, and even grab a cup at the on-site coffee shop to refuel before heading home.
