The park splits into upper and lower sections, with two baseball fields complete with backstops and a scoreboard. Regardless of whether you're part of a local team or just gathering friends for a casual game, there's plenty of room to play ball. Basketball more your thing? A small basketball court waits for your next pick-up game or solo practice session.

What we like about Ross Park is its versatility - the open layout works well for impromptu frisbee sessions or various ball games. The flat terrain provides accessibility year-round.

Kid-Friendly Zone

Little ones have their own special corner here with a thoughtfully designed playground featuring climbing structures, monkey bars, baby swings, and a slide. Parents of toddlers can breathe easy - the equipment isn't intimidatingly tall, making it excellent for even the youngest adventurers.

Kids seem especially drawn to the sandbox, which often has communal toys for sharing (a nice touch that encourages making friends). The partial fencing around the playground adds some peace of mind, creating a buffer between energetic children and nearby streets.

Need to spread out a blanket and relax? The lawn area offers space for picnicking, lounging with a book, or enjoying some Seattle sunshine. Well-maintained paths wind through the greenery, ideal for a leisurely stroll or a quick exercise walk.

Ross Park is dog-friendly. While the baseball fields are technically off-limits to four-legged visitors, there's plenty of open space where your pup can enjoy some outdoor time alongside you.

Gathering Spaces

The recently renovated Ross Playfield Shelterhouse stands ready for community connections. With its wide roll-up doors opening to a covered entrance, it's a practical space for everything from birthday celebrations and summer picnics to neighborhood meetings and classes.

You'll discover several picnic tables and benches scattered across the grounds, with a concentration in the upper field area. These provide comfortable spots to enjoy a packed lunch or simply rest between activities. A water fountain offers refreshment on warmer days.

The park's restroom facilities are clean and well-maintained - always a plus when you're spending the day outdoors with family. They're conveniently located near the upper play area.

Many local families have been visiting Ross Park for generations, giving this modest green space a familiar neighborhood feel.
