The Neighborhood Triangle

Situated in Seattle's Wedgwood neighborhood sits a tiny green space with a slightly misleading name. Despite being called Wedgwood Square, this little park is actually triangular in shape, formed where 31st Avenue NE meets NE 82nd Street.

Dating back to 1941, this modest patch of green has been part of the neighborhood since the original land plat of Wedgwood was established.

Nature in Miniature

Dominating this small urban oasis stands a magnificent Douglas Fir tree that is both centerpiece and natural shade provider. There's something special about this particular tree - it was intentionally preserved when developers were building up the neighborhood, making it a living connection to the area's past.

The rest of the park is simple: a grassy area surrounds the tree, creating a small but welcome patch of nature amid the surrounding streets and homes.

While you won't find playground equipment or sports facilities in this pocket-sized park, Wedgwood Square offers something equally valuable - a moment of quiet in the midst of city life.
