Freshly Renovated Play Area

Wildhorse Park got a serious facelift recently, with a brand new playground that opened in October 2023. The renovation brought modern play equipment that local kids can actually get excited about.

The updated playground isn't your average slides-and-swings setup. It features a saucer swing (perfect for group swinging sessions), cool rope climbers for the adventurous types, and a pirate-themed tree house structure that sparks imaginative play. They've also planted several new shade trees around the area - a thoughtful touch for those sunny Spokane days.

What You'll Find

The park itself is clean and well-kept. While you won't find designated picnic tables or benches for eating (so maybe eat before you come), there's plenty of space to stretch out and enjoy some downtime or active play.

Heads up - there are no public restrooms here, so plan accordingly. Dog owners will be happy to know the park is pet-friendly, making it a nice spot to walk your four-legged friend around the neighborhood.

Better Access for Everyone

Accessibility got a major upgrade with new 6-foot wide concrete sidewalks and a 10-foot wide asphalt trail around the park. These wider pathways make getting around much easier for everyone, whether you're pushing a stroller, using a mobility device, or just out for a stroll.

Neighborhood Green

While Wildhorse Park isn't a massive destination you'd drive across town for, it is a wonderful recreational space for the surrounding community. It strikes a nice balance between active play areas and quieter spots to relax.

The recent improvements, which were completed alongside the pedestrian overpass over the future 395, have transformed this local park into a pleasant space for the neighborhood.
