About the Location
Recreation Facilities
Stockford Village Park offers a nice 1.1 mile (about 2,500 steps if you're counting) walking and running path. The route is mostly flat with minimal elevation change, so you don't have to worry about tackling any major hills - perfect if you're just looking for a casual stroll or a straightforward run.
The playground area got a much-needed facelift in 2016, replacing equipment that had definitely seen better days. Before the renovation, locals actually nicknamed this spot "the dark park" because it sat empty so often and didn't exactly give off welcoming vibes.
Playground
One of the highlights is a spinning play structure that works well for kids 3 and up. If you've got toddlers, they might enjoy it too, though some parents find it better suited for slightly older children who have their balance figured out.
The equipment has been kept in good shape since the renovation. During daylight hours, the playground transforms into a lively space where neighborhood kids can burn off energy and make new friends.
Park Features
Located on NE 105th Street, the park is home to some beautiful evergreen trees that create a peaceful atmosphere. There are a couple of trails to explore, including one that leads down to a creek area. Just a heads-up - you might want to stick to daytime visits if you're planning to check out the creek trail, as it can be a bit tricky to navigate when light is limited.
The large open field area is excellent for throwing a frisbee, kicking a soccer ball around, or just letting your dog run off some steam (while keeping an eye on them, of course).
Amenities
You'll discover two picnic benches tucked among the trees, offering shady spots to enjoy lunch or just sit and take in the surroundings.
The short trails are a hit with families - they're especially great if your kids are still mastering their bike skills and need a safe place to practice.
Visitor Information
One of the nice things about this neighborhood park is that it rarely gets crowded. If you're looking to avoid the busier parks in the area, this hidden green might be right up your alley. That said, the park definitely shows its best side during daylight hours, so plan your visit accordingly.
