About the Location
A Neighborhood Oasis
Located in Vancouver's residential area, Tiger Tree Park is a six-acre green space that feels removed from city life. Unlike most parks, you won't find a grand entrance or parking lot here - just four simple walking paths at the compass points, hidden between houses like secret passages to a peaceful retreat.
We love how the towering mature fir trees create natural canopies throughout the park, offering welcome shade on sunny days. There's a nice open grassy area great for tossing a frisbee or simply sprawling out with a good book. If you're feeling a bit more adventurous, head to the back of the park where things get wonderfully wild - small dirt trails meander through woodland areas where you might catch squirrels darting about or birds flitting from branch to branch.
Getting There & Getting Around
Fair warning: you'll need to park on neighborhood streets and enter on foot through one of the walking paths. This car-free design is part of what keeps the park so peaceful, but it can make parking a bit tricky on beautiful days when everyone has the same idea.
Once inside, you can stick to the paved walking path that loops around the perimeter or venture onto the walking and forested trails that cut through the wooded sections. These paths offer a surprisingly immersive nature experience given how close you are to suburban homes.
Play & Relax
The playground area is definitely a highlight for families, featuring pirate-themed walkways and slides for both big and little adventurers. Just note that the monkey bars are set pretty high - perhaps better suited for older or taller children.
Scattered around the playground, you'll discover several picnic tables that make great spots for lunch or an afternoon snack. Benches across the park offer quiet moments to sit and take in the tranquility - great for when you need a breather while the kids play.
Good to Know
The park is impressively well-kept with neatly manicured lawns in the open spaces. Dog lovers, your furry friends are welcome here, but they'll need to stay leashed as you explore together.
One important thing to note: there are no restrooms or drinking fountains available at Tiger Tree Park. You might want to plan accordingly, especially for longer visits with little ones.
Local Treasure
Tiger Tree Park is a quiet, traffic-free zone with a nice mix of playground equipment, walking paths, and natural areas that people of all ages can enjoy.
With nature so close to the neighborhood, you can enjoy a quick escape without traveling far. Just be aware you might need to circle the block a few times for parking on those perfect Pacific Northwest days when everyone has the same idea.
