About Smith Park
Park Overview
Located in Milwaukee, Smith Park spans 19.4 acres of green goodness that is the neighborhood's outdoor living room. This versatile space blends natural charm with practical facilities, giving you plenty of options whether you're looking to break a sweat or simply unwind in nature's embrace.
Splash and Play
When summer heats things up, the park's wading pool becomes the place to be for little ones looking to cool off and splash around. Right nearby, you can find playground equipment that keeps kids entertained for hours - great for those days when your young ones need to burn off some energy while you catch a moment on a nearby bench.
ADSheboygan Arts & Water Segway Tour w/ Private Tour Option
Cultured Sheboygan Explore the historic maritime town of Sheboygan in style on your Segway tour with Segway the Lakes! After a quick training, we'll be off to discover the lighthouse, schooner remains, shipwreck sites, and the original location of the Sheboygan Life-Saving Station.
Sports Central
For the active visitor, Smith Park offers several options. The multi-use field accommodates everything from impromptu frisbee games to organized sports meetups.
Playing into the evening? No problem. The park's backstop with lights means your baseball or softball games don't have to end when the sun starts to set - a nice touch for those long summer evenings.
Historic Smith Pavilion
At the heart of the park stands the Smith Pavilion, a piece of living history built in 1938 by the Works Progress Administration (WPA). With its Colonial Revival style, stone veneered walls, and classic asphalt-shingled roof, it offers a glimpse into Milwaukee's past.
The pavilion can be reserved if you're planning a special gathering.
Amenities and Need-to-Knows
Planning a picnic? You'll find several picnic areas throughout the park, with options to reserve spaces for larger get-togethers. Note that to protect the grounds, you should use sand bags, weights, or water barrels instead of stakes when setting up any equipment.
You'll also find seasonal portable toilets available when nature calls.
Paths and Greenery
The walking paths winding through Smith Park offer a perfect route for your morning jog or an after-dinner stroll.
With its thoughtful layout of open meadows and shaded, tree-lined sections, you can find your perfect spot whether you're seeking sunshine or a cool retreat on a hot day.
