From Neglected to Rejuvenated

Let's be honest - Springer Park wasn't always in the best shape. Local residents identified it as a space crying out for some TLC. The Anchorage Park Foundation stepped up to the plate, launching a project to breathe new life into this communal area.

Before the makeover, you would've found graffiti-covered play equipment and sketchy surfacing around the play areas (not exactly what you want for your kids, right?). Today, the transformation speaks for itself - clean equipment and safe grounds where children can play without parents constantly worrying.

The playground features modern equipment that gives kids plenty of space to burn off energy and make new friends. One of the nice things about Springer is that it's typically less crowded than other Anchorage parks, making for a more peaceful outing with the family.

If you're feeling sporty, head over to the basketball courts or volleyball courts for a friendly game. Worked up an appetite? Several picnic tables scattered around the park provide perfect spots to enjoy lunch or a quick snack in the fresh Alaska air.
