Porter Park

Porter Park is a community park in Mesa, Arizona. Spanning 2.7 acres, this urban green space offers a variety of recreational facilities for residents and visitors. The park is situated in a growing neighborhood and provides a safe route for students to access two nearby schools.

The park features a lighted basketball half-court, allowing visitors to enjoy the sport even during evening hours. For younger visitors, there are playgrounds equipped with various structures for children to play and explore. Families and groups can take advantage of the shaded picnic facilities, including a first-come, first-serve shaded picnic ramada, perfect for outdoor gatherings and meals.

Porter Park is part of Mesa's expanding network of shared use pathways, contributing to the city's goal of promoting alternative transportation. A one-mile long pathway runs through the park, illuminated by solar-powered lights to enhance safety and visibility for users after dusk. This lighting system not only increases the usability of the park but also aligns with the city's cost-effective and environmentally friendly initiatives.

Visitors should note that as of March 2025, there are some temporary changes to the park's facilities. The double bed slide is currently closed for repairs. Additionally, the parking lot is operating at half capacity due to ongoing construction, with one-way traffic implemented to manage flow.
