Alegre Park
About Alegre Park
A Bit of History
Back in 1999, this green space started its journey as Don Carlos Park, but got a personality change when local elementary school kids renamed it Alegre Park. It's since become a place where neighbors often gather.
Where to Find It
Nestled in North Tempe, Alegre Park is one piece of the city's thoughtful park system, which tries to sprinkle about one park per square mile throughout the area. You'll find a nice mix of recreational spots and green spaces to enjoy when you visit.
Fresh Updates
Alegre Park has seen some nice upgrades in recent years. There's a new ramada that provides much-needed shade for picnics and small get-togethers.
Kids will appreciate the playground improvements, including a new shade structure and some pretty cool artist-designed rubber surfacing that's both safer for tumbles and more interesting to look at.
What's There
The landscape has gotten a refresh with newly planted trees that add to the greenery and offer extra patches of shade on sunny Arizona days.
If you're looking to relax with a meal outdoors, you can find new picnic tables and grills scattered throughout the park - meant for impromptu lunch breaks or weekend cookouts.
