Daumler Park
About Daumler Park
History and Background
Daumler Park has been a nearby location in Tempe since 1972, named after Kenneth Daumler whose memory lives on in this cozy 4-acre retreat. Tucked into a safe, friendly neighborhood, you can easily reach the park whether you're coming via freeway, strolling along the canal, or wandering through the neighborhood streets.
Recreation Spaces
The playground got a complete makeover recently, with the community celebrating its grand reopening in November 2019. Kids can play on equipment that sits atop safety cushioned flooring, reducing the risk of injuries from falls. The renovated space provides a safer environment for children to play.
Need some room to move? The park offers plenty of open spaces with lush grass and the shade of tall trees - excellent for tossing a frisbee, kicking a soccer ball, or simply sprawling out with a good book. And if you're feeling competitive, the basketball courts are waiting for your next pickup game.
What You'll Find
Even as the sun sets, the fun doesn't have to end. The park's lighting means your evening picnics or basketball showdowns can continue without missing a beat. The illuminated grounds create a welcoming atmosphere as twilight turns to night.
Speaking of picnics, you can find picnic tables scattered around the park, with charcoal grills ready for your burger-flipping skills. These spots make for perfect family gatherings or casual hangouts with friends - just bring your charcoal and favorite foods!
Good to Know
Before you settle in for a long day at the park, you should know there are no public restrooms available. It's something to consider when planning how long you'll stay or if you're bringing along children. The park welcomes visitors daily from 6AM until 10:30PM.
