Park History
Established in 1977, the park is named after Walter Ehrhardt, who migrated to the region in 1929. The park serves as a local gathering place for residents and visitors alike, offering a variety of outdoor activities and amenities.
Recent Renovations
In recent years, Ehrhardt Park has undergone renovations to enhance its features and appeal. One of the notable additions is a tree-house themed playground, which caters to children aged 2 to 12 years old.
This new play area provides an exciting and imaginative space for younger visitors to enjoy.
Community Garden
The park also features a community garden, known as the Friendship Evergreen Community Garden at Ehrhardt Park. This garden, established through a partnership between Friendship Village Tempe and the City of Tempe, spans one acre and includes 56 gardening plots available for reservation by the general public.
The community garden provides an opportunity for local residents to cultivate flowers and vegetables, fostering a sense of community and promoting sustainable practices.
